World Kindness Day is November 13.
It is a day that encourages individuals to overlook boundaries, race, and religion. Today is dedicated to paying-it-forward and focusing on the good. Be kind and do random acts of kindness. It is a win-win situation. It will make someone else feel good, and it will make you feel good as well. Smile at strangers. Give up your time for someone else. Make small talk. While you are at the grocery store, pick up some nonperishable food for those fighting hunger. Volunteer your time at the local soup kitchen. Donate clothing no longer needed to others in need. Leave a kind note for someone.Little gestures go a long way.
Kindness is the act or the state of being kind. It is marked by goodness and charitable behavior, mild disposition, pleasantness, tenderness and concern for others. It is a virtue, and recognized as a value in many cultures and religions. It is the act of being considerate, compassionate and empathetic towards other people and living beings. Kindness should not only be reserved for only humans, but animals and the environment as well. If you have children in your life, teach them kindness by practicing it in your daily life.
